After eleven years of work, the cuisine of Marianna Vitale has reached its expressive maturity, providing a perfect, delightful and updated synthesis of the Mediterranean culture of seafood and garden vegetables and the typical Neapolitan dry pasta culture. Ingredients, as well as some of the proposals, have hints of the eastern cultures as well, but the dishes come with substantial character and originality. The novelty of this year is the two menus for €60 (seven courses) and €100 (12 courses) which can rise respectively to €85 and €145 if you pair them with the wines suggested by Pino Esposito. The wines come from a cultured, varied and curious list that begins in Campania but which also presents Italian and French peculiarities. This choice gives the cook great freedom in the daily shopping but especially in the management of always fresh products. Her cuisine is "down-to-earth" as she herself defines it, and it always respects the rhythm of Italian traditions. The first course, which is always a concession to the joy of pasta and always preceded by an absolutely original and memorable “welcome” we enjoyed a great reinterpretation of the famous ragù. The second courses and above all the desserts are a great improvement over past efforts. The service is attentive but discreet, purposely precise but never rigid. You can eat in one of the two historic rooms or in the small outdoor area in summer. The kitchen is surely one of the most dynamic and full of life in Italy.
