The Belmond Copacabana Palace is one of the most iconic hotels in the world, overlooking the wonderful waterfront from which it takes its name. Open for over a century, over the years it has hosted all the stars visiting the Carioca city. An iconic hotel could only have another icon for the restaurant, the legendary Cipriani. The charm of a retro atmosphere with long white tablecloths and purple chairs. In the kitchen, Nello Cassese, a Campanian chef who has been living in Brazil for a few years now, offers his cuisine made of technique and elegance, both in presentations and in taste. There are two tasting menus, one with 14 courses and one with 11, where the chef manages to combine revisited Italian tradition with local ingredients. The references to Cassese’s homeland open the dinner with fried pizza, excellent homemade bread, and an eggplant parmigiana that alone is worth the trip. Then, from tuna to shrimp with almonds and Russian salad, to the main courses, the proposals never disappoint for elegance and taste intensity.
