The complete ranking of the The Best Italian Restaurants in the World 2026 by the 50 Top Italy 2026 Guide
The Ristorante Hotel Cipriani in Rio de Janeiro, led by Chef Nello Cassese and housed in its namesake’s building, was once again named Best Italian Restaurant in the World by the 50 Top Italy 2026 guide, which showcases the best of Italian dining both within Italy and abroad. Second place went to Il Carpaccio led by Alessandra Del Favero and Oliver Piras, located in Le Royal Monceau, in Paris. Third place to DaNico by Chef Daniele Corona, in Toronto.
Italian cuisine, which was recently declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, was celebrated by its finest exponents during the 50 Top Italy 2026 Gran Galà della Cucina Italiana at the Teatro Manzoni in Milan.
Fourth went to Stefano Secchi‘s Rezdôra in New York, while fifth went to Da Vittorio Shanghai, owned by the Cerea family. Sixth place went to Torno Subito in Singapore, under the direction of Chef Alessio Pirozzi and supervised by Massimo Bottura. Seventh place went to Fabio Trabocchi‘s Fiola in Washington DC, and eighth place to Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA in Hong Kong, by Chef Umberto Bombana. Ninth place went to Agli Amici Rovinj in Rovinj, owned by the Scarello family, and tenth place to Mario Gamba‘s Acquarello in Munich.
The countries with the most venues in this year’s ranking are the USA, France and Switzerland with 7 locations each, followed by China and Belgium with 4.
Sixteen special prizes were awarded for the Best of Italian Cuisine within and beyond the borders of the Belpaese:
The Pranzo dell’Anno 2026 – Pastificio dei Campi Award (Lunch of the Year 2026 – Pastificio dei Campi Award) went to Il Carpaccio in Paris; the Piatto dell’Anno 2026 – Latteria Sorrentina Award (Dish of the Year 2026 – Latteria Sorrentina Award) went to Fusillo al Ferretto, Lamiaceae, Caprino e Lime by Marotta Ristorante in Squille, while the Miglior Menu Degustazione 2026 – Latteria Sorrentina Award (Best Tasting Menu 2026 – Latteria Sorrentina Award) went to Miseria e Nobiltà by Osteria Francescana in Modena.
The Chef dell’Anno 2026 – Ferrarelle Award (Chef of the Year 2026 – Ferrarelle Award) is Nello Cassese at Ristorante Hotel Cipriani in Rio de Janeiro. The Maître dell’Anno 2026 – Maistà Award (Maître of the Year 2026 – Maistà Award) is Massimo Raugi at Villa Crespi in Orta San Giulio. The Manager dell’Anno 2026 – Il Fritturista – Oleificio Zucchi Award (Manager of the Year 2026 – Il Fritturista – Oleificio Zucchi Award) is Gianni Caprioli of Giando in Hong Kong. The Novità dell’Anno 2026 – Solania Award (New Entry of the Year 2026 – Solania Award) is ORSINI in Zurich, and the Sommelier dell’Anno 2026 Award (Sommelier of the Year 2026 Award) went to Emanuele Izzo at Piazzetta Milù in Castellammare di Stabia.
The Made in Italy 2026 – Salumi Coati Award went to Torno Subito in Singapore, and the Performance dell’Anno 2026 – D’Amico Award (Performance of the Year 2026 – D’Amico Award) went to Roscioli Salumeria con Cucina in Rome. The Migliore Prima Colazione 2026 – Latteria San Salvatore Award (Best Breakfast 2026 – Latteria San Salvatore Award) went to Il San Corrado di Noto, in Sicily, and the Icon 2026 – Latteria San Salvatore Award went to Mario Gamba of Acquarello in Munich. The Migliore Comunicazione Social 2026 – Mammafiore Award (Best Social Media Communication 2026 – Mammafiore Award) went to Uliassi in Senigallia.
The One to Watch 2026 – Goeldlin Award went to Sustànza in Naples. The Pasticceria nella Ristorazione 2026 – Mulino Caputo Award (Pastry in Dining 2026 – Mulino Caputo Award) went to the restaurant Duomo in Ragusa, while the Pasticceria dell’Anno 2026 – Mulino Caputo Award (Pastry of the Year 2026 – Mulino Caputo Award) went to Pietro Macellaro in Piaggine.
