Una cucina che mira all'essenza e all’essenziale, senza orpelli. On the outskirts of Udine, the Scarello family has been involved in restaurant business and hospitality for more than 130 years. You’ll find Emanuele in the kitchen and Michela in the dining room. They represent the flag-bearers of this very long family tradition. The restaurant has modern furnishings, and one of its strengths is its hospitality and friendliness. There are three tasting itineraries to choose from: “Nuovamente agli Amici, “Go Green”, and “Grand Tour: Storie e Cuore d’Italia” (Grand Tour: the legends and loves of Italy). It is also possible to choose from 3 to 5 dishes from the tasting menu. The kitchen aims for essence and the essential without unnecessary frills. The idea of the “Grand Tour” is very clever and successful. In this menu, traditional Italian regional dishes are expertly revisited. It starts with Venice: seared baby cuttlefish, soar and seafood broth. It then continues with Udine: steamed bread with Friulian saffron, salted butter made with the aroma of linseed and chicken broth. The homage to Naples is fun and pure gluttony: a cloud of bread with piennolo tomatoes and caper powder. The nod to Cagliari is intense and delicious: fregola risotto with yellowfin tuna marrow, anchovies and a touch of lemon. We then move on to l’Aquila with “cacio e ova”. A spectacular closure comes with Firenze: soft biscuit with yvoire and black currant cream, and a mango and lemon sorbet. The wine list is far-reaching, with more than prominent labels. Michele Scarello will accompany you on your journey; he is always present and discreet throughout your whole meal.
