We are in the Emilian countryside, on the outskirts of Modena among rows of Lambrusco vineyards, for the precious balsamic vinegar and roads that look like paths. Lara Gilmore and Massimo Bottura have renovated and furnished this magical place, in their image and likeness, filling it with their passions, contemporary art, books, vinyl records, dream cars. The rooms are unique, each one is decorated differently, with many works of art and unique pieces of furniture that surround them, and a welcome treat, a piece of Parmigiano Reggiano to accompany with a drop of balsamic vinegar from the estate’s vinegar cellar. There are two possibilities for dinner, Francescana at Maria Luigia, where you can try the historic dishes of Osteria Francescana in a very convivial formula, where the kitchen space becomes a stage on which to perform, and the Gatto Verde, where fire and embers reign. In the kitchen, the talented Jessica Rosval blends her Canadian origins with the territory that hosts her, the Emilian one, giving life to a personal cuisine. A plus for breakfast, probably on the savoury side, the best you can find around.
