Since 1870, Lokanda Devetak — the first Michelin Green Star in Friuli Venezia Giulia — has preserved the gastronomic soul of the Karst, transforming a land marked by the Great War into a Central European temple of taste. Today, Avguštin leads the dining room — and a rock-hewn wine cellar with no fewer than 12,000 labels — together with his daughters Tjaša and Tatjana, for an authentic family welcome steeped in history. In the kitchen, his wife Gabriella and daughter Michaela prepare forgotten dishes, drawing on the culinary traditions of the Karst and Slovenia. The flavors showcase ingredients from small local producers who help preserve wild herbs and zero-kilometer vegetables grown by daughter Sara.
