Along the Santo road leading to Padua, Locanda Aurilia has served as an inn and horse stable, a resting place for travelers and carters. Since 1952 it has been run by the De Marchi family. The atmosphere feels like another era, and so does the service. The cuisine is Padua-based, with a firmly rooted traditional soul, and follows the seasons: bigoli all’Aurilia, sautéed veal kidney, goose in November, and the grand boiled-meat platter in December, followed by the cheese trolley. Old-fashioned desserts. It is best not to stray from the menu, because here certain dishes are part of the venue’s historical identity.
